Happy 75th Anniversary!

Nipissing Area is celebrating its 75th Anniversary this year.

To recognize the event, the Area is preparing a commemorative crest for blankets, and permission will be sought to wear them on the uniform during 2009.

Two designs have been prepared and Scouters and scouting youth are invited to help choose the final design by voting at their meetings and forwarding their results to the next Scouters Club, Feb. 4, when the votes will be tallied.

Third Widdifield Scout Group has announced it will organize and host a special area event to commemorate the anniversary, and challenges other groups to organize and host a commemorate event.

Photographer Tim Salidas, known for his community photographs that for several years have been featured at Northgate Square and now North Bay Mall, wants to photograph all area groups and sections for an upcoming display that will be tied into the anniversary.

Groups and sections are encouraged to incorporate the anniversary into their activities this year.
